Bridging the Years – Country life around Knockainey in Days Gone By
This delightful book brings together a collection of interviews and photographs from 15 people who grew up around Knockainey during the mid-20th century. The book recalls a time when people cycled to funerals in Cork, killed their own pigs and made black puddings at home, and gathers together memories of haymaking, going to the cremaery and days in school. It was from a time before electricity and domestic water supplies, when peole had relatively little but were relatively happy. Available only in paperback.
